Five homes evacuated in Root, one partially-collapsed in the town of Amsterdam

June 13, 2014:

    The Montgomery County Emergency Management Office has activated the Emergency Operations Center in Fonda, NY.

    Montgomery County is experiencing heavy flooding in areas throughout the county.  The following roads are currently closed;

Argersinger Road

Brumley Road

Anderson Road

Currytown Road

Lusso Road

Bordon Road

There is also minor flooding on St. Hwy. 5 and St. Hwy 67 in the Town of Amsterdam.

    There are five (5) homes which had to be evacuated on Argersinger Road in the Town of Root, one (1) home on Noonan Road in the Town of Amsterdam had a partial collapse and Red Cross has been contacted for assistance.

    The main concern is another round of weather entering the County at this time.  All Fire Departments throughout the county have been activated and are standing by for service.

    Emergency Management advises All to NOT drive through standing water or enter it.  Call 911 should you experience any difficulty or experience any problems!
