APD: Undercover sting nets three drug arrests

Three Amsterdam residents were arrested on drug charges Wednesday during an undercover surveillance detail of “public view” loitering for the purpose of purchasing illicit drugs.

The Amsterdam Police Department, with assistance from the NYSP Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, seized heroin, cocaine and approximately $1,665, according to a police report.

Those arrested include:

• Heriberto Nadal, 22, of 11 Williams St., was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, and first-degree loitering, a class B misdemeanor. Police said Nadal possessed cocaine.

• Pedro Rosado, 20, of 10 Crane St.,was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, and first-degree loitering, a class B misdemeanor. Police said Rosado possessed heroin.

• Zahtwon Pringle, 23, of 35 Eagle St., was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony.

All subjects were held for arraignment today in Amsterdam City Court.

“The police department would like to thank the residents of the city of Amsterdam for their continued support in providing tips and information about illegal drug activity,” Detective Lt. Kurt Conroy said in a release.
