William "Bill" E. Anagnostopulos

William "Bill" E. Anagnostopulos, 68, of Fonda passed away suddenly at Albany Medical Center on June 8, 2013 following a brief illness. His loving family was by his side. He was born in Amsterdam, NY on July 16, 1944, the son of the late John "Jack" & Margretta Luff Agnostopulos.

ill is a life time resident of the area and graduated from Broadalbin High School. He worked as a self employed contractor for many years. He was then self employed at the Winner's Circle Restaurant in Fonda. He owned and operated the restaurant for 18 years where he enjoyed spending time with his restaurant family and friends. He was nick named the "Wizard" after the speedy rebuild of the restaurant after it was damaged by fire. Above anything Bill was a family man, he loved to spend time with his family. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and his Corvette, and along with his need for speed he enjoyed NASCAR and dirt track racing. He is a past Commodore of the Sacandaga Boat Club and always looked forward to his yearly camping trip. Bill also loved the companionship of his dogs, Shadow, Chili, Maddie and Frosty and sharing his ice cream with them nightly. He also enjoyed his Saturday morning breakfast club with friends. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife, Christine Reppenhagen Anagnostopulos whom he wed on May 1, 1970, sons Billy (Linda) Anagnostopulos of Altamont and John (Carm) Anagnostopulos of Johnstown, daughters, Tammy Robb (John) of Mayfield and Holly Anagnostopulos of Fonda; beloved grandchildren Randy (Michelle) Robb, Alex Glebe, James Winsman, Megan Anagnostopulos, Tatiana Anagnostopulos and Alexis Anagnostopulos along with great granddaughter, Lyla Rose Robb. He is also survived by a brother John Agno of Michigan, a sister Jill (Dan) Maye of Saratoga and a sister in law Audrey Agnostopulos of Mayfield along with many nieces, nephews and cousins that also survive.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Jim Anagnostopulos.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 4pm until 8pm at the Betz Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave. Amsterdam NY 12010. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church, 54 West Main Street, Broadalbin, NY 12025 at 1pm. Rev. Linda Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in the Broadalbin Mayfield Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Bill's memory to the Montgomery County SPCA, the Habitat for Humanity or to a charity of one's choice.
