Paul W. (Blazejewski) Blaze, 74, of Regina Lane, passed away suddenly Friday morning at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam with his loving family at his bedside.

He was born March 4, 1939 in Amsterdam, NY and was the son of the late William and Mary Wyszomirski Blazejewski. He graduated in 1953 from St. Stanislaus School and in 1957 graduated from the Wilbur H. Lynch High School, he later attended HVCC.

Paul was employed by the Empire Markets and Grand Union as a meat cutter and meat manager in the area stores of Scotia, Fort Plain, Palatine Bridge and Gloversville, until his retirement in 1995.

He was member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam, where he served as Alter Server, Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Lazarus Group. Paul was also a member of the Sacred Heart Society, Holy Name Society, a social member of the PAV and member of the Amsterdam Elks Lodge 101, where he served as Esquire for several years.

Paul enjoyed his home, four wheeling and working outside on his property.

On October 2, 1960 he married the former Elaine Kaminski, besides his wife he is survived by his children David Blaze of Amsterdam, Susan Blazejewski of Amsterdam, Martin (Jennifer) Blaze of Hamden, CT and Amy (Michael) Nerney of Schenectady; four grandchildren KC Elaine and Amanda Nerney, Bret Blaze and Manya Blaze; great granddaughter Jade Phelps; brothers-in-law David Pribek of Buffalo and Thomas (Sharon) Kaminski of Gaffney, SC; sister-in-law Patricia Kaminski (Joseph) Zuraski of Clifton Park; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Paul was predeceased by a sister Frances (Blazejewski) Pribek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 10, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Stanislaus Church, 73 Reid Street, Amsterdam with the Rev. O. Robert Demartinis as celebrant.

Cremation will follow at the Vale Cemetery Crematorium in Schenectady.

Family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. The Amsterdam Elks Lodge 101 will conduct a service at 3:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Paul's memory to NYOH 1700 Riverfront Center, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or to St. Stanislaus Church, 73 Reid Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
