Fonda cancels racing

FONDA -- Rainy conditions throughout the day Saturday forced Fonda Speedway officials to cancel the track's racing program for the fourth time this season.

With the cancellation, the 2013 Lou Lazzaro Memorial has been moved to this coming Saturday, with a 44-lap feature for the DIRTcar modifieds with $4,444.44 and the Coastal 181 Cup going to the winner. The sportsman, pro stock, street stock and 4-cylinder divisions will also be in action, with racing scheduled to being at 7 p.m.

General admission for the event is $10, with $4 off the price of admission for anyone wearing a Lazzaro hat, shirt or jacket. Admission for children is $2, and active or retired members of the U.S. military can be admitted for free with a valid ID.

The track will also be open to tailgaters, with gates opening at 3:30 p.m. and closing at 5. Admission is $10 per car, $20 for each adult and $10 for children ages 12 and under. Season pass holders are only required to pay the car fee.
