A rock 'n' roll show for cancer will take place rain or shine at Johnstown Area Community Center, 2 Prindle Court, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Featured will be a car, truck and motorcycle show, trophies, 50/50 raffle, music, vendors/crafters, food and dash plaques. Free bounce house. Operation safe child registration by Fulton County Sheriff's Association. There is a $10 entry fee. AMSTERDAM

St. Ann's Episcopal Church, 37 Division St., will serve its community meal from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The menu includes baked chicken, potatoes, vegetable, rolls and dessert. The meal is free and open to all. No take-outs.

FLORIDA

All are welcome to attend the town's Memorial Day ceremony at 7 p.m. at the veterans park, 214 Fort Hunter Road.

TRIBES HILL

The Tribes Hill Fire Department will host its annual Memorial Day events starting with a veterans breakfast at 7 a.m. at the Mohawk Drive fire house, followed by a parade at 11:30 a.m. A noontime service at Veterans Park will feature a guest of honor.

Monday

AMSTERDAM

The John J. Wyszomirski American Legion Post 701 will conduct Memorial Day ceremonies at Green Hill Cemetery beginning at 9:30 a.m. The veterans will begin at the Civil War section and then move to the Spanish-American War section. Both areas are located in the back of the cemetery. All are welcome to attend.

BROADALBIN

VFW Post 8690, after the parade and ceremony at the Broadalbin Cemetery, will host an afternoon of complimentary food, friends and live music, starting at noon. Entertainment provided by guitarist Bobby "Badfinger" Motyl, 19 Pine St., Broadalbin (across from the Broadalbin Volunteer Fire Department).

CANAJOHARIE

A community Memorial Day service will be held at 9 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Church, 26 Moyer St. The service will conclude at White's Park with the decommissioning of a flag by area scouts.

FONDA

The Fonda Fultonville Memorial Day parade will start in back of the court house in Fonda.

GALWAY

The annual big book sale will take place in the village park, at the corner of Route 147 and East Street, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (friends of the library members only, 8:30 to 9 a.m. If you're not a member, you can join then for $5 and get a free book.) The sale is a fundraiser sponsored by the Friends of the Galway Public Library which raises money for library expenditures that are not included in the general operating budget. More than 1,000 books are offered. DVDs, music CDs, vinyl LPs and VHS videos may also be offered.

ST. JOHNSVILLE

Fort Klock is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Tryon County Militia re-enactors will drill and shoot their muskets. Artisans will demonstrate 18th century crafts. The barn frame loom will be "dressed" for the season by members and weaver friends. There will be a hands-on task that visitors are invited to participate in. Tuesday

AMSTERDAM

Club 60 will take place at 4:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Healthcare cafeteria, 427 Guy Park Ave. The cost is $6.50 per person. Menu includes tossed salad, roll and butter, roast pork loin, mashed potatoes and gravy and lemon meringue pie. Guest speaker will be Brigitta Giulianelli of Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York. To register, or for more information, call Gayle Grajewski at 841-3895.

The Writers' Group meets at 7 p.m. at the Galway Public Library located at 5264 Sacandaga Road.

AMSTERDAM

Survivors of a Loved One's Suicide (SOLOS) Support Group will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Mary's Healthcare. This is a support group for those who have lost a family member, friend or colleague to suicide. The Galway Public Library, 5264 Sacandaga Road, will hold introductory technology classes to help participants get comfortable with their devices. Today's class will be Android Tablet SOS at 5 p.m.

The first meeting of teen volunteers, Volunteens, will be held at 4 p.m., at the Galway Public Library, 5264 Sacandaga Road.

The Galway Public Library, 5264 Sacandaga Road, will hold an Intro to Slide Show (Microsoft) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and will teach participants how to create a presentation. Registration is required for technology classes by calling 882-6385.

The Red Rooster Cafe will host Dr. Joseph Bryan, veterinarian, who will talk about the James A. Brennen Humane Society and caring for your pets. The program follows the weekly congregate meal, which is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Programs are held Thursdays at the Red Rooster Cafe (Pink Chicken) at the corner of Bridge and Main streets, Northville. Those who wish to enjoy the OFA meal are asked to call Fulton County OFA at 736-5650 to make lunch reservations.

The Montgomery County Ladies of Charity & Sons of American Legion Post 701 are sponsoring a chicken barbecue from 4 to 7 p.m. at the American Legion Post 701, 123 W. Main St. Dinner includes half of a barbecued chicken, baked potato, cole slaw, roll, butter and dessert. Cost is $9. For tickets or free delivery in city call 842-9531 or 265-5571. BROADALBIN

The Paige and Brandy Adirondack MG Walk will take place at the American Legion Post 337, Route 29. The walking event and fundraiser will benefit Paige Mackey and Brandy Mickus, two Broadalbin women who suffer from myasthenia gravis. The walk will begin at the American Legion pavilion at 11 a.m. Registration is at 10 a.m., and a fundraiser will take place at the pavilion after the walk. MOHAWK

A motorcycle blessing and fundraising event is scheduled to benefit fallen State Trooper David Cunniff, who died from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident near Thruway Exit 27. All proceeds will benefit his family. The bike blessing will take place at 1 p.m. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Shrine, 3636 Route 5, Fonda. The benefit will take place immediately thereafter at Russo's Adirondack Grill, 3664 Route 30, Vail Mills. It will include raffles and t-shirts for sale. Entertainment will be provided by Pop Junkies and Bobby "Badfinger" Motyl.

PALATINE

Salem United Methodist Church, 1254 Stone Arabia Road, will hold its annual lasagna dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The cost for adults is $8.50 and children $4.50. Partial proceeds will benefit the Fort Plain flood victims. For any questions call 773-7948 during the day.

Old Home Days-Open House will be held at Crum Creek Lutheran Church, 110 Route 108, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Original church record books dating back to 1853 and community history will be on display. Local authors will sign their books. Visit with local historians. There will also be a mini yard sale, cookie sale and free hot dogs. ST. JOHNSVILLE

The Palatine Settlement Society will celebrate its 18th annual Rhubarb Festival at the 1747 Nellis Tavern, Route 5, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rhubarb pie baking contest begins at noon with guest judges. Prizes will be awarded at 1 p.m. Lunch items, along with a variety of rhubarb delicacies, will be available. Gary Van Slyke will be the wandering minstrel in the afternoon. Admission is free. Proceeds go toward the continuing restoration and preservation of the tavern. Tours are available. For more information call Mary Davis at (315) 866-2619.
