Injuries, arrests are reported following bowling alley brawl

TOWN OF AMSTERDAM -- Police responded to a large fight at Kelly's Imperial Lanes around 3 a.m. Friday that left a pair of men with injuries while three others were arrested.

Montgomery County Undersheriff Peter Vroman said about 50 people were involved in the fight, which started inside the bowling alley and ended up in the parking lot.

A DJ suffered a broken jaw, and a bartender was knocked unconscious after he was struck in the head with a beer bottle, Vroman said. They were treated and released.

Three men were charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault, said Vroman, who did not release any names this morning.

Vroman said a witness reported there was a gun involved, but no gun was recovered, and there were no shots fired.

GAVAC Operations Manager Mickey Swartz said the agency responded with an ambulance. The initial request was for two ambulances, but one was canceled.

State police spokesman Mark Cepiel said there is nothing in the Troop G system to indicate troopers responded to the incident; however, some may have provided aid.

No other information was available this morning.
