Joseph T. Russotto

Joseph T. Russotto, 87, a longtime resident of Speculator NY passed away after a brief illness on May 12, 2014.

He was born in Pawling, NY to Felice and Josephine Russotto and is one of seven children.

He is survived by his sisters Angelina Hardisty, Pauline and Carmella Russotto. His sister Rose Townsend and brothers Mimi and Chris Russotto have predeceased him.

Joe graduated from Pawling High School, served in the Army Air Force at the end of WWII, married in 1948, moved to Wappingers Falls, NY and worked for IBM until he retired in 1984. He and his wife moved to Speculator, NY in 1986.

He was married to his late wife Margaret for 50 years. Their three surviving children, Stephanie Datz of Beaufort, SC, Bruce and his wife Debbie Russotto of Port Orange, FL and Felice Russotto of Wappingers Falls, NY will dearly miss him. His family and many close friends will feel his loss for a long while.

Joe was a life member of the New Hamburg Volunteer Fire Department and the VFW Post 7228 of Lake Pleasant, NY. He was also a member of the Adirondack Veterans Association, the Speculator Lake Pleasant Fish and Game Club and the Pleasant Riders Snowmobile Club of Lake Pleasant.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday May 20, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge Street, Northville, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow in Speculator Cemetery, Speculator, NY.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Speculator Volunteer Ambulance Corps., P. O. Box 282, Speculator, NY 12164 in lieu of flowers.
