CHERRY VALLEY -- The Broadalbin-Perth girls outdoor track and field team won the team title at Friday's Kyle "Toot" Hysack Invitational, while Canajoharie's Jordyn Logan earned the top individual honor.
The Lady Patriots compiled 211 points to outpace second-place Canajoharie's 127, while Jordyn Logan shared the Overall Athlete of the Meet award with Mt. Markham's Heather Curtain.
Jordyn Logan set the meet record with her time of 61.8 seconds in the 400-meter dash. The Lady Cougars junior also won the 800-meter run (2 minutes, 32.8 seconds), came in second place in the high jump (4 feet, 8 inches) and helped the Lady Cougars win the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4 minutes, 20.1 seconds, along with teammates Ariannah Logan, Jordan Porter and Dainara Veeder.
Jordyn Logan's win in the 400-meter dash came in a tight race. B-P's Celina Onzo finished in second place with a time of 62.2 seconds, while Canajoharie's Porter (62.4 seconds) and Ariannah Logan (62.7 seconds) were the next two finishers.
The B-P girls had two athletes collect meet awards. Senior Anna Smith was named the Field Athlete of the Meet, while eighth-grader Jordyn DeNeuville was the Track Athlete of the Meet.
Smith won the shot put (34 feet, 0.25 inches) and discus throw 88 feet, 11 inches), while DeNeuville won the 1,500-meter run (5 minutes, 11.4 seconds) and 3,000-meter run (11 minutes, 22.8 seconds).
Also adding solo wins for B-P were Coreena Monroe (400-meter hurdles, 70.0 seconds), Lakshmi Kesari (pole vault, 8 feet, 0 inches) and Chelsea LeBlanc (high jump, 4 feet, 10 inches)
Adding a relay victory for the Lady Patriots were Christa Decker, Monroe, Onzo and Kaitlin Sala in the 4x200-meter relay; the four Lady Patriots finished in 1 minute, 52.6 seconds. B-P's 4x800-meter relay team of Kylie Gifford, Monroe, Cadey Nolan and Victoria Opalka also added a win, finishing in 10 minutes, 53.2 seconds.
