Sharon Skiba Latza

Sharon Skiba Latza, 66 passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at her home.

Born in Amsterdam on March 13, 1948, the daughter of the late Edmund and Jane Yurkon Skiba, she was a 1966 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School.

She graduated from the Colonna Beauty School. Sharon, in her earlier years, was employed as a beautician and florist she also worked for New York State Dept. of Tax & Finance and for Montgomery Co. Board of Realtors.

She also enjoyed playing volleyball and softball with friends and family.

Following her marriage she became a homemaker, raising her family and caring for her home. Later she was employed as a receptionist and office assistant for Hometown Mortgage in Perth.

Sharon is a 20 year survivor of cancer.

When her children were young, she was a member of the PTSO at their school.

Sharon and her husband Dan enjoyed spending the winters at their home in Naples Fla.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary's RC Church.

Her happiest times were spent with family, especially her granddaughter Danielle, and her "special angels" Josh, Ben, Jules, Sammy and Bella.

On September 6, 1969 she was united in marriage to Daniel P. Latza. In addition to Dan, she leaves her children; Tami D. Latza- Bort of Broadalbin, Jason D. (Megan) Latza of Broadalbin and Shane D. (Maureen) Latza of Saratoga; her granddaughter Danielle J. Bort; brother Jerry (Judy) Skiba of Amsterdam and sister Claudia Kingsley of Folly Island SC; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Sharon's family wished to thank her dear friend and doctor, Dr. Emily Etzkorn for her compassion, care and concern.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:15 am at St. Mary's Church 156 East Main Street by Fr. John M. Medwid. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue.

Interment is in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church.
