Mary A. Rossi

Mary A. Rossi, 88, Amsterdam, NY, passed away peacefully Thursday morning at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility after being a resident since 2006.

She was born April 2, 1925 in Amsterdam, New York and was a daughter of the late John and Winifred Wisniewski Sheckton.

Mary attended local schools. She was employed as a retail clerk for McCrory's Department Store for a number of years.

Mary was a parishioner or Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Christian Mothers Association of the church.

Her passion was cooking and taking care of her family and she was a good friend to everyone that knew her.

Mary was married for over fifty years to Eugene J. Rossi who passed away in 1984. Mary was also predeceased by two grandsons David Rossi and Shawn Rossi.

Survivors include three sons Vincent D. (Lisa) Rossi of Amsterdam, John P. Rossi of Boise, Idaho and Eugene P. (Christina) Rossi of Amsterdam; two sisters Jane Francisco of Fort Myers Florida and Josephine Jaworski of Saratoga Springs; five grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no funeral services or calling hours.

Cremation will take place at the Vale Cemetery Crematorium, Schenectady, NY.
