US Marshalls hit city

Wednesday, April 24, 2013 - Updated: 3:50 PM

United State Marshals were in the city of Amsterdam Tuesday. Amsterdam Police Department's Lt. Rob Richardson said the marshals were in the city looking to interview people in order to find the whereabouts of someone for whom they have a warrant. He said they were not successful in finding that person.

Richardson said he reached out to them for "a little professional courtesy," as the department was not notified in advance.

"They should have -- and they normally do -- call our desk, advise us what they have going on, and about where they're going to be and we always offer our assistance since we know the houses and we know the area," Richardson said, but added that he was informed later that they did not intend to serve a warrant, but merely gather information.
