Lane closings expected next week in city

Saturday, April 06, 2013 - Updated: 4:10 PM

The state Department of Transportation this week advised that motorists will encounter sporadic lane closures due to traffic signal work and sidewalk and curbing installations at various intersections in the city of Amsterdam.

They include intersections at Route 30 between the new Amsterdam Bridge over the Barge Canal and Van Dyke Ave, Route 5 west between Schuyler Street and Route 30, and Route 5 west between Route 30 and Pine Street.

Additionally, Route 5 west between Schuyler Street and Pine will have an ongoing, long-term left-lane closure.

Flaggers will be used to control one-way alternating traffic as needed. Expect minor delays.
