Kenneth Lopoczyk, 63, of Van Dyke Avenue in Amsterdam passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady on March 30, 2013. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 18, 1949, the son of the late William and Margaret Winkelbauer Lopoczyk.

Kenny was brought into Liberty's care in 1991, he lived on Carlisle Road in Canajoharie until 1995 when he moved to Van Dyke Avenue in Amsterdam where he has resided for the last 18 years. He enjoyed watching TV, especially baseball games, listening to music, going for rides in the van and most of all being in the presence of his friends and family. He truly loved to be in the company of people and also enjoyed pet therapy. His bright and loving presence will be sadly missed.

He is survived by a cousin Sandra Sule of Bethlehem, PA, many Liberty friends and family, past and present at home on Van Dyke Avenue and at Day Treatment .

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his aunt, Helen Sule and her husband Louis Sule.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 11AM at the Betz Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave. Amsterdam NY 12010.

Family and friends are welcome to visit from 10AM until 11AM before the service. Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams will officiate.

Burial will follow Friday at the Ocean View Cemetery in Staten Island, NY.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the Montgomery County SPCA or to the Liberty Foundation.
