Man facing two charges

BROADALBIN -- A Broadalbin man was arrested Wednesday evening for allegedly having sex with an under-aged female in a car.

According to New York State Police, James A. Vanderwerker, 20, was charged with misdemeanor sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child after Mayfield troopers reportedly observed him having sexual intercourse with an under-aged female in the back seat of a car on Krunz Road in the town of Broadalbin.

State Police spokesman Mark Cepiel said the arrest took place at approximately 10:50 p.m. and Vanderwerker admitted to the troopers that his actions were illegal.

Cepiel said the girl was younger than 17 years of age, which is the age of consent in New York state. He added he could not release more information about the arrest because she is considered a minor.

Vanderwerker is scheduled to be arraigned on these charges Thursday in Broadalbin court.

Lewdness count filed

An Amsterdam man was charged with public lewdness after reportedly exposing himself to another motorist while driving.

At approximately 1:25 p.m. Tuesday, Latham troopers responded to a complaint that James Przyblowicz, 44, allegedly exposed himself while driving on Route 7 in the town of Colonie.

After interviewing the witness, troopers were able to determine the vehicle involved in the incident and subsequently identify Przyblowicz as the subject.

He was charged with public lewdness, a misdemeanor, and issued an appearance ticket for Colonie Court returnable on April 4 at 6 p.m.
