Lorraine B. (Kowalczyk) Fournier

Mrs. Lorraine B. (Kowalczyk) Fournier, 70, of Charles Street, Ilion, New York formerly of Amsterdam passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital in Utica, New York.

She was born April 20, 1942 in Amsterdam, New York a daughter of the late Bernard and Sophie Zabelski Kowalczyk. She was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School.

Mrs. Fournier performed secretarial work for many years before retiring. She was also a homemaker.

Lorraine was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Annunciation Church in Ilion.

She is survived by her daughters Deborah Fournier-Burdick, West Edmeston, New York and Doreen Reid, West Winfield, New York; three grandchildren, Ashley Fournier, Rebecca Williams and Emily Fournier-Reid; a great grandchild, Aryen with two more expected shortly; her sister, Joan Brasmeister, Fultonville, New York; fiancee, Harry W. Barker, Amsterdam; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home, 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, New York followed by the Liturgy of the Word at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church.

Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society - Breast Cancer Research.
