Martina L. Zarecki Hayes

Martina L. Zarecki Hayes, 55, of Amsterdam passed away peacefully at her home on March 16, 2014.

She was born in Amsterdam, NY on November 24, 1958, the daughter of the late David and Jessie Gray Zarecki, Sr.

Tina is a graduate of Amsterdam High School and worked for many years at the Amsterdam Recorder in Customer Service. Tina enjoyed animals and was a past volunteer at the Montgomery County SPCA. She enjoyed dancing, going to the casino, playing on the computer and baking. Most of all she loved her family, especially her grandkids.

Her loving family includes daughters Vanessa (Kevin) of Bethlehem and Jessica Alikonis (Jessica Ray) of Perth, grandchildren Devin and Kilee Tran of Bethlehem, brothers Donald and Douglas; sisters Judith, Elizabeth, Joyce and Regina. She is also survived by her husband Andrew Hayes along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by a brother David.

A special thank you to all of the health care providers and caregivers who helped Martina through her illness and showed their support in her time of need.

Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of life and family gathering in Tina's honor at the John J. Wyszomirski Post #701, 123 West Main Street, Amsterdam NY 12010 from 1pm until 5pm on Sunday, March 23, 2014.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam NY 12010 or to a charity of one's choice.
