Mrs. Patricia Stegman, 83, of Florida Avenue, Amsterdam, passed away early Sunday morning March 3, 2013 at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born March 14, 1929 in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Mrs. Stegman attended local schools in New Jersey. She was employed for many years at Our Lady Help of Christians Church and School in Staten Island, New York, where she was a Religious Educator and Secretary.

She was a devoted catholic and enjoyed working for the school and the church rectory. She also enjoyed attending the many church dinner dances, planting flowers, decorating her home and collecting antiques. Patricia was very proud of her Irish Heritage.

Patricia moved to Amsterdam 11 years ago where she had since resided. She married Richard T. Stegman. He passed away on December 25, 2011.

Survivors include her son, John R. Stegman of Amsterdam and her daughter Patty Tamsett of Palatine Bridge. Patricia was also a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Stegman was predeceased by two sons, Kevin Stegman in 1968 and Robert Stegman in 2010.

Funeral services will be held 6:45 pm Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with Father John Medwid presiding.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5:00 until 6:45pm at the funeral home.

Cremation will take place at Vale Crematorium. Her cremated remains will be entombed at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made: Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny's Corner Road, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
