Mrs. Lois J. Rumrill, died February 26, 2013 at the Nathan Littauer Nursing Home. She was born January 31, 1920 in St. Johnsville N.Y., daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Snell Glenar.

Mrs. Rumrill graduated St. Johnsville High School in 1937 and attended State University of New York at Albany for 2 years receiving her elementary education teaching certificate from State University of New York at Oneonta in 1941.

She came to Gloversville area with her family in 1969 when her husband Howard returned from his position as an engineer with ARMA on Long Island.

She was a home maker and had held various teaching positions in her lifetime. She retired in 1982 from the Fulton County Department of Social Services. She was a member of the Johnstown chapter of D.A.R., former member of the Fulton County Children's Committee, the Fulton County Historical Society and the Ida McGinnis Senior Citizens.

Lois is survived by three daughters: Karen DesJardins (Peter) of Mayfield, Beth Benjamin (Timothy) of Gloversville and Marilyn Black (Carl) of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Eric, Daniel, Meghan, Ryan, Katie and Emily, as well as two great grandchildren. Lois was pre-deceased in 2011 by her husband Howard J. Rumrill whom she had married 1961.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of her family. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville.
