Mr. James A. Mooney, age 69, of Forest Hill Towers, Gloversville, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, with his loving daughter by his side after a long illness.

He was born December 25, 1943 in Port Leyden, NY, the son of the late Clarence and Theresa Bauer Mooney. He attended Port Leyden Central School and Lowville Academy. In 1963 he served in the Naval Reserve. He grew up in Fort Plain where he resided until 2011.

Jim worked for himself as a carpenter/handyman. He loved to help people and made many friends doing so. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandson. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and PGA Golf. Prior to his illness he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, dancing and being a member of the Fort Plain Elks Lodge.

Special thanks to his dear friends Gerri Maring and Taya Kardash for helping care for him over the years.

Jim is survived by: his daughter, Michelle Ippoliti; son-in-law, Bruce Skinner, Jr; stepson, Michael Mooney (Cathy) and grandson and "best buddy" Makoa Skinner. Also surviving are his grandpets that he loved: Po, Taco and Bubba; his siblings: Shirley Duesler of Englewood, FL, Phyllis Mooney of Homossossa, FL, Tom Mooney (Linda) of Arlington, TN, Don Mooney (Karen) of Lowville, NY, Millie Oeser of Homossossa, FL, Joanne Mooney of Plymouth, MA, Richard Mooney (Linda) of Adams, NY and Kathy Rollman (Butch) of Indian Trail, NC; several nieces and nephews.

Cremation took place at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
