Mrs. Eleanor R. Siudy LaTour, of Hagaman Avenue died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on her 76th Birthday. Born in Amsterdam, NY on February 25, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Charles and Gladys Vedder Cole.

A lifelong area resident, Eleanor was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School and worked as a seamstress for the Hanover Company. Although she had many employment opportunities, her favorite was as a Teacher's Aide for the Greater Amsterdam School District.

She also enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her family includes her husband, Thomas N. LaTour, whom she married on June 19, 1994; four sons, Richard (Carole) Siudy of Peoria, AZ, Mark (Ann) Siudy of the Town of Florida, James (Christie) Siudy of Amsterdam, and Eric (Jeanie) Kuehner of Winter Haven, FL; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Charles Cole and Helen Kuehner.

Services will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 10 o'clock at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call this evening, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be to Community Hospice or to the Animal Shelter of one's choice.
