DWI checkpoint yields two arrests Tuesday

TOWN OF MOHAWK — A State Police DWI checkpoint conducted on Route 5 Tuesday resulted in the arrest of two local residents, while 14 others were ticketed for vehicle and traffic infractions.

Those charged with DWIs were Randy A. Lehr, 50, of Amsterdam, and Duncan Pank, 25, of Canajoharie, troopers said.

Pank was arraigned in Mohawk town court and remanded to the Montgomery County jail in lieu $2,500.

Lehr was processed and released on tickets returnable to town court on March 12.
