Joeella (Briskie) Marek, 83, peacefully passed to eternal life on Sunday, February 19, 2012.

She was born to Stanley and Agatha Briskie of Fort Johnson.

She married Clement Marek who predeceased her in 1985.

Joeelle is survived by her children, Glenn (Debi) Marek and Wayne Marek of Fort Johnson, and Cheryl (Sammie) Del Monico of Schenectady; siblings, Gordon Briskie of Schenectady, Frances Ziemba of Sloansville and Mary Jane Engelhardt of Broadalbin; her grandchildren, Alexis (Ron) Shaffer, Kimberly Del Monico, Esq., Peter Del Monico, Glenn T. Marek, Kristen Marotta and Aaron Tesiero; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 9:45 a.m. Friday at the Amsterdam Funeral Chapel, 13 Belmont Place, Amsterdam followed at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christina Burial at St. Stephen's Church, Hagaman.

Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Amsterdam.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in c/o the funeral chapel.

The family gives special thanks to the staff at Wilkinson Nursing Home for their compassion and care.
