Police report

Amsterdam Police Department

* Police responded to an incident in which a male victim fell on a pair of scissors. He told police he was trying to make his granddaughter laugh by jumping on the bed, but the scissors were left on the bed because his wife was clipping coupons. He was stabbed in the chest. Police report the man is recovering.

* Brent Becker, 51, of 351 Division St., was arrested Feb. 4 and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor. A caller told police someone had stole his license plate, and police responded to the Division street home. They found the stolen plate attached to a Volkswagen Passat. Becker told police his insurance was suspended, and needed a new license plate.

* Miranda Phelps, 19, of 63 Elizabeth St., was arrested Feb. 4 following a vehicle stop on Prospect Street. She was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a misdemeanor.

* Cara Dearaujo, 30, of 6 Chestnut St., was arrested Feb. 5 and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a class E felony; and four counts of seventh-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, class A misdemeanors. The incident stemmed from an arrest made at Dearaujo's house on an active warrant in December 2013. When police arrived, they found four different prescription drugs and a stolen credit card. She was arrested on the new charges and arraigned that day.

* Marisol Lopez, 38, of 39 John St., was arrested Feb. 5 and charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The charges stemmed from a domestic dispute with Lopez' boyfriend and son. Police say there was a physical altercation. She was held for arraignment.

* Brandon Reinhart, 17, of 73 James St., was arrested Feb. 5 and charged with two counts of second-degree criminal contempt for allegedly violating an order of protection on two occasions by having contact with the victim. He was held for arraignment.

* Deanna Karl, 19, of 634 Queen Anne Road, was arrested Feb. 6 and charged with failure to appear on an outstanding bench warrant issued by Amsterdam City Court, police said. She was held for arraignment.

* Natalie Oshaughnessy, 22, of 15 Arnold St., was arrested Feb. 6 and charged with petty larceny, a class A misdemeanor. Police say she stole a can of Four Loko. She was released to appear in city court Feb. 25.

* Thomas Waicul, 41, of 11 Gorksi St., was arrested Feb. 8 following a vehicle stop on Cornell St. He was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a class E felony; and driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. He also allegedly refused to submit to a prescreen test, which is a violation. He was held for arraignment.

* Marilyn Deoleo, 49, of 184 Church St., was arrested Feb. 8 following a vehicle stop on Glenn Avenue. She was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, a misdemeanor.

* Jermaine Wilson, 32, of 89 Fairview Place, was arrested Feb. 8 and charged with third-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a violation. Police responded to a report of Wilson breaking and smashing things in a residence. While speaking with the victim, police say they discovered Wilson assaulted her on Feb. 1. Officers also learned there was an active parole warrant for Wilson's arrest and he was remanded to the Montgomery County Jail.

* Brian Santiago, 28, of 13 Jackson St., was arrested Feb. 9 and charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a class A misdemeanor, after a report of a domestic dispute. Police discovered there was an active order of protection for the victim against Santiago. He was held for arraignment.

* Mark Bentley, 54, of 13 Fonclaire St., Johnstown, was arrested Feb. 9 following a vehicle stop on Route 5. He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a class A misdemeanor. He was issued traffic tickets.

* Rafael Otero, 45, of 124 Market St., was arrested Feb. 10 and charged with failure to appear on an outstanding bench warrant issued by Amsterdam City Court, police said. He was held for arraignment.

* John Nizet, 47, of 100 Grand St., was arrested Feb. 10 on an active parole warrant for a reported parole violation. He was remanded to the Montgomery County Jail on the warrant.

* Steven Ray, 33, of 3 Third St., was arrested Feb. 11 and charged with allegedly failing to appear on an outstanding bench warrant issued by Amsterdam City Court. He was held for arraignment.

* Eric Welch, 26, of 158 Remsen St., Cohoes, was arrested Feb. 11 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana while appearing for court in Amsterdam. Officers reportedly found a Baggie with marijuana in it during a pat-down before court. He was released on an appearance ticket.

* Amy Shaffer, 28, of 100 Charles Lane, was arrested Jan. 15 following a vehicle stop. She was charged with having a suspended license on Feb. 11. Officers did not originally realize her license was suspended. She was held for arraignment.

* John Jennings, 50, of 31 Garden St., was arrested Feb. 11 and charged with failure to appear on an outstanding bench warrant issued by Amsterdam City Court, police said. He was held for arraignment.

* Paul Dietrich, 43, of 47 Garden St., was arrested Feb. 12 and charged with second-degree harassment, a violation, for a reported incident involving a domestic dispute. He was held for arraignment.

* Brian Nasadoski, 54, of 365 E. Main St., was arrested Feb. 12 and charged with petty larceny, a class A misdemeanor, for an incident on Jan. 26 in which he allegedly stole newspapers from a local establishment. He was released to appear in city court Feb. 25.

* Sara Hill, 29, of 2455 Pumpkin Hollow, Oneonta, was arrested Feb. 13 for failure to appear on an outstanding bench warrant issued by Amsterdam City Court, police said. She was held for arraignment.

* Joshua Elderd, 25, of 34 Second Ave., Mayfield, was arrested Feb. 13 following a vehicle stop on Guy Park Avenue. He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a class A misdemeanor, following police's investigation into a three-car motor vehicle accident. He was released on $100 cash bail to appear in city court Feb. 25.

* Yazdira Rodriquez, 26, of 197 Division St., was arrested Feb. 14 following a vehicle stop on Guy Park Avenue Extension. She was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and released on traffic tickets to appear in city court Feb. 25.

* Ruben Salamo, 45, of 200 Guy Park Ave., was arrested Feb. 14 and charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a class a misdemeanor, following a investigation into a domestic dispute. Police say he violated an order of protection. Salamo was gone when police arrived, but was arrested a week later on an arrest warrant. He was held for arraignment.

* Israel Santiago, 34, of 350 E. Main St., was arrested Feb. 14 and charged with fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony, for an incident on July 18, 2013 in which he allegedly sold narcotic drugs. He was arrested on a bench warrant and held for arraignment.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office

* Jeremy S. McCumber, 29, of 45 Yates St., Troy, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Saturday at 10 a.m. deputies stopped McCumber for driving with an expired inspection sticker. His driver's license was also reportedly suspended. He is scheduled to appear at Glen town court Feb. 27 at 2 p.m.

* Elizabeth R. Macneil, 22, of 354 Burtonville Road, Fultonville, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation for allegedly operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. Macneil was stopped by deputies Feb. 11 for driving a motor vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. Both her vehicle's registration and license were suspended due to an alleged insurance lapse. Macneil is scheduled to appear at Mohawk town court Feb. 25 at 5 p.m.

* Raymond R. Murtha, 39, of 34 Beaver St., Gloversville, was charged with grand larceny and criminal mischief Nov. 30. Deputies charged Murtha for allegedly stealing two laptops from a case at the Route 30 Walmart in the town of Amsterdam. The case where the laptops were secured was also damaged, deputies said.

* Ashley R. Lape, 25, of 1220 Parkwood Ave., Schenectady, was charged with driving with a suspended license, suspended registration and speeding, deputies said. She was reportedly stopped for speeding on Stoner Trail Road in the town of Mohawk. She is scheduled to appear at Mohawk town court March 4 at 5 p.m.

Canajoharie Police Department

* Dominic M. Mazzarella, 19, of 398 Blain Road, Canajoharie, was arrested for allegedly operating his vehicle with a registration suspended for an insurance lapse, and failure to surrender documents to DMV, police said.

* Three residents were arrested following an altercation on Mill Street, police said. Barbara S. Dillenback, 28, of 909 Albany St., Utica, was charged with second-degree harassment. Theodore Nichols, 26, of 101 Barclay St., Canajoharie, and Stacy David, 34, of 17 Wagner St., were charged with disorderly conduct.

* Korey Failing, 25, of 17 Erie St., Canajoharie, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Fulton County Sheriff's Office

* Christine A. Fortune, 42, of 381 Progress Road, Gloversville, was arrested Feb. 4 by deputies following a single car motor vehicle accident with injuries in the town of Broadalbin.

According to a press release, Fortune was charged with failing to keep right, having a blood alcohol content of .08 percent, and a DWI. Deputies said Fortune crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a snow bank on the other side of the roadway.

Her vehicle then flipped over onto its side and landed against a telephone pole, police said. Fortune was reportedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.

She was processed and released on tickets, and is scheduled to appear at Broadalbin town court March 6 at 5 p.m.
