F-F boys, girls place second at sectionals

ALBANY -- The Fonda-Fultonville Braves and Lady Braves both came in second place at Sunday's 2013 Division IV Sectional Championships for indoor track and field at the University at Albany.

The Braves scored 81 points as a team, narrowly falling to Greenwich's 85; meanwhile, the Lady Braves accrued 107.33 points in losing to Chatham, which scored 114 points.

On the girls' side, F-F produced a pair of winners. Lindsay Therrien was a winner in the 55-meter hurdles with her time of 9.43 seconds, while Rebekah Hentnik won the day's pole vault with a height of eight feet, six inches.

Therrien also came in third place in the long jump and the triple jump. Meanwhile teammate Alesha Heacock came in second place in the high jump, and fourth place in the triple jump and the 55-meter hurdles.

On the boys' side, Michael Sweet was the winner of the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.53 seconds, and the 4x800-meter relay team of Tyler Angioli, Cameron Gilligan, Matthew Hoffman and Jimmy Westman was a winner.

Kyle Guiffre came in second place in the shot put for the Braves -- Dom Neri came in third place in that event -- Tom Dwyer came in second place in the triple jump, Jacob Hentnik came in third place in the pole vault, Angioli came in second place in the 600-meter rune, and Hoffman in second place in the 1,000-meter run and in third in the 1,600-meter run.

Impressively, Jacob Hentnik came in second place in the 55-meter hurdles and Joe Fox came in third, both behind their teammate, Sweet.
