Josephine ("Jo") Prybycien

On February 9th, 2013, the Angels called on Josephine ("Jo") Prybycien to join her loving husband Ed in Heaven. There were married for 69 years until his death in 2003.

After retiring from the Mohawk Carpet Mills, she opened "Crystal Clear," her successful gift store at the Polar Plaza in Amsterdam, NY.

An avid and top-notch card player she was ready at the drop of a hat to challenge anyone to a game of their choice.

"Jo" lived a long, happy and productive life. She was 97 years old.

She is survived by her loving son Ron and his partner, Christopher McCall, and loving son Jerry and his wife, Sue. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Tracy and husband, Stan Zalik, also Kelly and her husband, Gary Cardenas. She was the devoted great grandmother to Stephanie and Christopher Zalik and to Diego Cardenas.

"Jo" is also survived by her sisters Estelle Demitraszek and Helen Bramer both of Amsterdam and has now been reunited with her late sister Jean Giovanni and brother John Chybion.

Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and countless friends from her years at Crystal Clear and from her Seniors organization in Hagaman.

"We could always count on her love and strength and we will carry her spirit with us Forever."

Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Amsterdam Funeral Chapel, 13 Belmont Place, Amsterdam.

Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Hagaman Volunteer Dire Department in c/o of the funeral chapel.
