Minnie H. Janiga, 86, died Saturday evening February 9th at the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Amsterdam, Minnie was the daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Frank) Godey and a graduate of Wilbur Lynch High School in Amsterdam. A former employee of the General Electric Company, Minnie was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, sewing, fishing and her garden. She was a member of the Second Reformed Church of Rotterdam and the churches Women's Guild.

Predeceased in 1999 by her husband 52 years Joseph A. Janiga, who she married November 1, 1947. She is survived by her children, Janice E. Janiga of Rotterdam and William J. Janiga of Schenectady, her grandson, Christopher Janiga of Schenectady and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon February 13th at 12:30 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY . A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:30 to 12:30pm prior to the service. Spring interment in Viewland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Minnie's memory to either the Second Reformed Church of Rotterdam, 118 Putnam Rd., Schenectady, NY 12306 or to the Schonowe Volunteer Fire Department , 112 Gordon Road, Schenectady, NY 12306. Online condolences at www.bondfuneralhome.com
