Lester I. Washington

Mr. Lester I. Washington, 61, of Academy Street, Amsterdam died peacefully on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital with his devoted wife by his side.

Born in Harlem, New York on August 15, 1951 he was the son of the late Lester and Cleo Irving Washington.

Lester grew up in Harlem and has been a resident of the Mohawk Valley for over 20 years. He was employed as a housekeeper for Montgomery Transitional Services until the onset of his illness.

Lester was truly one of a kind and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Kelli J. Washington; one brother Elbert (Arlene) Washington; one sister, Rhonda Wiggins; his mother in law, Joan Pratt; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services for Lester will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11 o'clock at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.

Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held this evening from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
