Lady Hilltoppers rally past Mayfield

MAYFIELD -- Rallying back from a sizable first-quarter deficit, the Fort Plain Lady Hilltoppers scored a 47-32 WAC win Wednesday against the Mayfield Lady Panthers.

Fort Plain (10-1, 7-0) trailed Mayfield (3-7, 2-5), 16-1, after one quarter. The Lady Panthers' lead was trimmed after each of the next two quarters to one point at the start of the fourth quarter, in which the Lady Hilltoppers dominated to seize the victory.

Five Lady Hilltoppers scored, led by Abby Boyer's 19 points. Haley Kilmartin contributed 14 points, while Bri Florian and Allehah VanLoan each had six.

Alex Sheldon had 11 points for Mayfield, while Nicole Little added seven.

Galway 58,

Spa Central Catholic 30

The Lady Eagles (6-4, 5-2) used a big first quarter to topple the Lady Saints (3-6, 2-5). Galway led by 15 points after one quarter.

Galway's Erica Chase led all scorers with 11 points. Amanda Gould and Lindsey Naughten each contributed 10 points.

Canajoharie 40,

Northville 25

The Lady Cougars (6-4, 5-2) built a 17-point lead by halftime to cruise to victory against Northville (4-6, 3-4).

Alexis Kane had 11 points to lead Canajoharie, which also received 10 from Kara Schwab.

Amsterdam 7,

Bishop Maginn 0

Joe Spagnola rolled a 587 and Billy McGaffin chipped in with a 582 to lead Amsterdam to a victory over Bishop Maginn.

Amsterdam (71-20) outpinned Bishop Maginn, 3,159-2,371.

Brandon Little contributed with a 220.
