Stella M. Soodol

Stella M. Soodol, 88, of Stinson Avenue, Tribes Hill, NY; passed away Tuesday January 8, 2013 at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam, NY.

Born in Amsterdam on July 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late George and Katherine Ferenz.

Stella was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School in Amsterdam.

Stella was employed as a Beverage Manager at St. Michael's Club in Amsterdam for many years.

Her husband John A. Soodol to whom she married May 12, 1947 passed away March 31, 1986.

Stella is survived by her son Leonard Soodol of Tribes Hill, NY; one granddaughter, Ashley Ann Soodol of Amsterdam, three sisters-in- law, Agnes Soodol and Edith Ferenz of Amsterdam and Virginia Gardinier of Fort Hunter, NY; and her pet dog, Hagrid.

Stella was also predeceased by her son, Gary Lee Daniel Soodol in August of 1971

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY.

Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Amsterdam.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Stella's name may be made to Leatherstocking Honor Flight, P.O. Box 621 Cobleskill, NY 12043 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.

Stella's family would like to thank the nursing staff, Dr Pizarro and the administrators for the kindness and compassion they showed during her stay at River Ridge.
