Area’s first baby born at St. Mary’s

St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam was the site of the area’s first baby born in 2013.

The baby was born at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The family was not identified by the hospital.

Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville didn’t report any births Tuesday.

The Bellevue Woman’s Center in Niskayuna had the Capital Region’s first baby of the year. Zaniya Janea Buess was born at 12:17 a.m. to parents Martia Higginbotham and fiance Seth Buess of Schenectady. The girl is the couple’s first child, and she was born on her father’s 24th birthday.
