MINDEN — An Ilion man is facing felony charges in for allegedly “forcefully raping” a woman, according to police reports.


New York State Police arrested Brandon L. Rice, 24, and charged him with first-degree rape and second-degree burglary, both felonies, and criminal obstruction of breathing, a misdemeanor.

State Police said Rice allegedly entered a home unlawfully early Thursday morning and then forcibly raped a woman who lived at the residence. Rice allegedly choked the woman during the incident.

Rice was arraigned in Minden Town Court and remanded to Montgomery County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. He is scheduled to reappear town court on Aug. 10.
