BROADALBIN — A local woman was allegedly found to be intoxicated after a New York State trooper stopped her for driving erratically, according to police reports.
State police arrested Cheryl Sweet, 53, of Broadalbin, on Thursday, Feb. 23, and charged her with driving while intoxicated, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
A trooper responded Thursday evening to a report of an erratic driver in the town of Broadalbin and located Sweet allegedly driving on the shoulder of Bogden Road. The trooper allegedly detected an odor of alcohol emanating from Sweet, who subsequently failed standardized field sobriety tests.
State police said Sweet had a blood-alcohol content of 0.16 percent. She was also allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana and hydrocodone.
Sweet was released on tickets to appear in Broadalbin Town Court at a later date.
