Dear Editor,

On behalf of the Amsterdam Police Benevolent Association we would like to extend our thanks to all the participants, sponsors, family, friends and volunteers who made our 4th annual Cops and Joggers 5K run, held on Saturday, Sept. 9, a success.

We had 148 participants come out for this year’s event. The race as always, was made possible by the generous support of our sponsors, among them: Mrs. Helen White, Eastern Medical Support, Patriot Federal Bank, Wal Mart, Monolith Solar, Alpin Haus Fitness, Renegade Pigs MC/Mohawk Valley Chapter, DomAdi’s Deli, MCT Credit Union, Hannaford, Lanzi’s Restaurant, Raindancer Restaurant, Project 29, CP’s Family Restaurant, Orange Theory Fitness, Miller Printing, Carm’s Restaurant, Driscoll Foods, Russo’s Grill, Royal Mountain, Stewarts Shops, Lowes, McDonalds, Plush Hair Studio, Wine and Roses, Price Chopper, Home Depot, Domino’s, Amsterdam Print, Coca Cola, Sticker Mule, Hairline Beauty Supply, Blue Iris Photography, Emerald Cinemas and St. Mary’s Health Care. We would also like to give a big thank you to Mark Perfetti Photography for donating his time in taking photographs of our event.

The planning, promoting and hosting of a successful event requires the time and effort of many. We would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped set up the Riverlink Park on Race Day. We would like to thank Danielle Whelly from the City of Amsterdam Recreation Department for her assistance. We would like to thank those that helped at our registration table. We would like to thank the members of our Amsterdam Police Department Explorers Post. We would like to send a huge thank you to the Fulmont Road Runners Club for doing the timing of the race and setting up the start and finish lines of the course.

The Amsterdam Police Department Police Benevolent Association is a non-profit labor Union and is made of up of Patrol Officers and Detectives of the Amsterdam Police Department.

Fundraising events like our annual 5K run, allows us to further our mission of Community Policing and helps promote civic interaction between our officers and the community, a community which we are proud to serve. With your help we will be donating a portion of this year’s proceeds to the Amsterdam Free Library as they continue to recover from a fire at their building earlier this year. Thank you again to all who participated and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
