To the editor,
I was one of the lucky ones to arrive at the Amsterdam Free Library on Aug. 21 at noon, to obtain the NASA approved goggles with which to view the partial solar eclipse. Nature did not disappoint.
My thanks to Nicole Hemsley, director, for her having the library become a focal point for the community to experience this grand event of nature.
In addition, thanks to John Naple, who provided a 30-minute introduction to the “summer skies” with a sky map, and identification of constellations and planets now visible in the Amsterdam skies.
Look up, everyone: it’s a magnificent sight.
