Gregory R. “Greg” (Pops) Moak, 69, of St. Johnsville, passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter, Annette Sanguine, on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, with his devoted family by his side.

He was born June 25, 1948, in Amsterdam, N.Y., the son of the late Richard and Gladys (James) Moak and was educated at Fonda Fultonville schools.

Greg was a bus driver for the Brown’s Transportation Co., in Amsterdam, N.Y.

Pops, as he was known by his loved ones, was a good man and enjoyed his life, especially with the quality time spent with his grandchildren. The outdoors was his home, and riding the open road on his motorcycle was his relaxation. In his leisure he was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include two daughters, Annette (Ron) Sanguine of St. Johnsville, and Darla Moak and fiancé Michael Vincent of Carlisle, N.Y.; three sons, Bernie Moak and fiancée Brittany Blanz of Irmo, S.C., William (Jennifer) Moak of Orlando, Fla., and Richard (Stephanie) Moak of Amsterdam, N.Y.; a brother, Norman (Mary) Moak of Raleigh, N.C.; 11 grandkids, Savannah Moak, Nicholas Sanguine, Alexis Sanguine, CamRon Moak, Maximus Moak, Christopher Moak, Austin Moak, Ashlyn Moak, Shawn Moak, Dakota Moak, Christiana Moak; a great-grandson, Caleb Vanalstyne; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by a sister, Darla.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, from 1 to 3 p.m. from the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, (next to the Masonic Lodge), 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY, 518-568-7040. Burial at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville, N.Y., will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers please make all memorial contributions to either the Fort Plain VFW Post 3275, 30 River St., Fort Plain, NY 13339 or to MT. Valley Hospice, 108 Steele St. Gloversville, NY 12078.
