Benjamin S. Nellis, Jr., 92, of Dillenback Road, entered into eternal life on Monday, May 15, 2017, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Palatine Bridge, he was a graduate of Canajoharie High School. He was the son of the late Benjamin Shults and Mildred Kahn Nellis.

Ben was a lifetime dairy farmer who prided himself in having worked the same land for over seventy years. He and his wife were the owners of Benmar Farms, Inc., in Palatine Bridge.

Ben was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Stone Arabia. He also held memberships in the Montgomery County Farm Bureau, Silver Spur Riding Club, Mohawk Roamers RV Club, the Family Motorcoach Association and the Montgomery County Agricultural Society, along with past affiliations with local creameries and co-ops, the Grange and the Mohawk Minden Insurance Company.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Anna Mae Cronkhite and Ethel Barshied.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Marilyn White Nellis, whom he married on March 31, 1956; his loving children, Mary Ann Nellis (Philip Scalia), Judith (the late George) Brunner, Willard B. Nellis (Tanya Williams) and Deborah Yacobucci (Robert Hastings); his precious grandchildren, Stacia (Dante) Biancucci, Amanda Klump, Rhonda (Charles) Oliver, Scot Dingman (Sandy Huang) and Kyle Yacobucci; and one brother-in-law, Willis (Skip) Barshied. Several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
