Family was everything to her and the greatest joy in her life. Connie was born Oct. 30, 1926, to Wanda Domachowski and Harry Jeske in Oshkosh, Wis. After graduating high school, she entered the Misericordia Hospital of Nursing as a member of the US Cadet Nursing Corps. Connie graduated as an RN and worked at the VA Hospital in Milwaukee.
She was married in 1951 and relocated to Hoffmans, N.Y., where she lived with her family until 1963 when they moved to Johnson City. Connie worked as an RN at Wilson Memorial Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1981 to enjoy the things she loved: gardening, cooking, canning, her faith and her family. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament (St. Vincent) Parish for over 50 years, where she was an active member in the prayer chain ministry and Eucharist for the elderly.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, April 8, at 11 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament/St. Vincent DePaul Church, 465 Clubhouse Road, Vestal. The family will receive friends on Saturday at 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the Church. Burial will be on Monday, April 10, at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Upper Steadwell St., Amsterdam, NY at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Connie’s name to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC.
