Mrs. Dolores E. Brojakowski, 87, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, surrounded by her family at the Heritage Home for Women in Schenectady.

Born in Ceasetown, Pa., on July 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Pavlick Yudichak.

In 1953 she moved to Amsterdam. For many years she was employed as a waitress at Johnny’s Seafood until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and loved her family dearly.

On May 13, 1950, she was united in marriage to Peter L. Brojakowski. That union lasted nearly 60 years until his passing on Dec. 29, 2009. She was also predeceased by her daughter Patricia and a sister, Anna Culick.

Survivors include her six children, John (Maria) Brojakowski of Niskayuna, N.Y., Beverly (Gary) Greco of Amsterdam, N.Y., Bernadine (Joseph) Venezia of Leesburg, Va., Blaise (Kathryn) Brojakowski of Graham, N.C., Judith Sloane of Keene, N.H., Daniel (Julie) Brojakowski of Elmira, N.Y.; 25 grandchildren, Amy, Sarah, Brandon, Gretchen, Heidi, Erin, Carolyn, Brady, Christina, Andrew, David, Michael, Shannon, Katherine, Daniel, Matthew, Jocelyn, Kristle, John, Peter, Patricia, Susannah, Heather, Morgan and Kyle; 30 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joseph Yudichak and Bernadine (Joseph) Novak; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at 11:15 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 156 E. Main St., Amsterdam with the Rev. Jeffrey L’Arche, MS as celebrant. A gathering will take place on Thursday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
