JOHNSTOWN — Aiden VanLoan scored both of his team’s goals as the Fulton-Montgomery Community College men’s soccer team extended its winning streak to three games with Wednesday’s 2-1 win over North Country Community College.
VanLoan got F-MCC on the board with 23 minutes left in the first half, knocking home a Jack Albertin cross. A long throw-in set up North Country for the tying goal with four minutes gone in the second half, but six minutes later F-MCC went back in front when VanLoan headed in an Austin Heroth corner kick.
“I thought we played well and we are finally getting the system,” F-MCC coach Cory Leggiero said. “Everyone is playin tough and we are on a playoff push.”
With four games to play, F-MCC (5-3) is eighth in the NJCAA Region 3 standings. The Raiders have a long road trip over the weekend, visiting Jamestown on Saturday and playing region leader Genesee on Sunday.
