Names released in city drug bust

Several search and arrest warrants were executed Tuesday morning at various locations in the city of Amsterdam for drug sales and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Those arrested include: Peter W. Santos, 22, of 68 Arnold Ave., 1st floor; Peter D. Santos, 55, of 68 Arnold Ave., 1st floor; Jacqueline Santos, 49, of 68 Arnold Ave., 1st floor; Christina Santos, 19, of 68 Arnold Ave.; Angela Santos, 21, of 70 Arnold Ave.; Raul Baez, 24, of 70 Arnold Ave.;David Canales, 33, of 83 Academy St., 1st floor; Justin Crawford, 26, of 24 Dewitt St., Second floor; Ricardo Aponte, 30, currently incarcerated at Montgomery County Correctional Facility; Carlos Vega-Carbonell, 30, of 48 Jay St., 1st floor; Steven Carrero, 23, of 42 Mathias Ave., Apt. 1; and Walter Albino, 24, of 7 Willard St,. 1st floor.

The search warrants were executed on the first floor of 68 Arnold Ave., 70 Arnold Ave., the first floor of 83 Academy St., the second floor of 24 Dewitt St., and the left of 2 Harrison Ave.

The five search warrants and 11 arrest warrants were part of a five-month investigation, according to the Amsterdam Police Department. During the raids, authorities seized an unspecified amount of heroin and marijuana, two stolen handguns, an unreleased amount of money and several vehicles, along with various drug paraphernalia from the five locations.

The raids were part of a joint effort between the APD, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, state police, the FBI Capital District Gang Task Force and the Schenectady Police Department.
