The regular meeting of the Glen Mohawk Seniors was called to order by President Beverly Guiffre, followed by the morning prayer given by Allan Taylor, the pledge to the flag and the singing of “My Country Tis of Thee,” with Barbara Furman at the piano.
Roll call was taken by Vice President Alan Buck which showed 26 members and a guest present. The secretary’s report was read and approved by Lois Collins and Peg Labarge. The treasurer’s report was read by Olive Taylor and will be filed for audit. Corresponding secretary Betsy Saltsman had information on a number of trips and happenings coming up in the area. She passed a number of cards for absent seniors.
Trip committee chairperson Lu Wilmot said she needs more people to sign up for the trip to see the Friesean Horses in Vermont on Sept. 12. She said that the by-laws requires 20 seniors to sign up and she only had 17. Alan Buck made a motion to not go on the trip because there were not enough seniors, the motion was seconded by Connie Hoyer. After much discussion on the motion, it did not pass. Allan Taylor made a motion to go on the trip anyway, seconded by Pat Putman. The motion passed. The trip committee will give each member $9 toward the Installation Banquet on Oct. 17. The committee is working on a trip to Melodies of Christmas and a Turning Stone trip before the end of the year.
The Installation Banquet will be at The Raindancer restaurant on Oct. 17. The menu is stuffed chicken breast, hot roast beef sandwich or seafood casserole. The cost to each member is $10, thanks to the trip committee donation.
Alan Buck made a motion not to have a meeting on Sept. 12, because of the Vermont trip. The motion was seconded by Addie Forsey and passed. Ruth Burke said that Table 7’s luncheon will be on Sept. 26 and will consist of hot dogs, meat sauce, macaroni salad, chips, soda and ice cream for dessert. The cost will be $3.
Allan Taylor thanked Lois Collins for taking his place last week. Marie Dumlar thanked everyone for her birthday cards.

The 50/25/25 was won by Jim Douglas and Martha Hensel.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Addie Forsey and seconded by Ron Collins. The meeting was brought to a close with an ending prayer given by Allan Taylor.
