The Broadalbin Seniors met on Sept. 6 at the First Presbyterian Church in Broadalbin with 53 members and guests attending. Prayer was offered by Dorothy Putman.

After the Pledge of Allegiance, the meeting was called to order by President Toni Hallenbeck. Nancy Weiss read her secretary report and Jennifer Gilston gave her treasurer’s report. Ruth Lee announced the September birthdays and Nancy McWilliams was this month’s lottery ticket winner. Happy Birthday was sung by all.

Judy Rosenzweig announced that at the next meeting there will be a book exchange. Also, items will be collected at the next meeting for packages to be sent our to our deployed military members for Veterans Day.

Sue Moyer was our 50/50 winner.

Our guest speaker, Jamie Marshall from Resource Center for Independent Living, spoke to the group about Alzheimer’s disease.

Our next senior meeting will be on Sept. 20. The trip committee has announced the following trips.

• June 10-14, 2018: Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket

• Sept. 14 – 21, 2018: A Canyon Country trip. This is a trip to the National Parks including Zion National Park,  Bryce Canyon National Park and the Grand Canyon.

• Oct. 24 – Nov. 4, 2018: Viking River Cruise “Cities Of Light” Cities include Prague Czech Republic, Nuremberg Germany, Bamberg Germany, Wurzburg Germany, Heidelberg Germany, Mainz Germany, Cochem Germany, Trier Germany, Luxembourg City Luxembourg and Paris France.
