Fort Plain Free Library invites area residents to the Local History Roundtable

FORT PLAIN — Dig out those family scrapbooks, photo albums, and mementos! On Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the Fort Plain Free Library will host the first Local History Roundtable forum for area residents with an interest in local history.

Facilitated by Fort Plain Village Historian Eileen Chambers and Minden Town Historian Rob Carter, the informal, drop-in discussion group will meet at the library on the third Wednesday of each month. As noted by the organizers, the general focus is on those hailing from or residing in Fort Plain, Nelliston, and the town of Minden, but people from the surrounding areas are also invited to take part in the free gatherings.

In particular, Chambers and Carter are open to those interested in sharing memories, family histories, scrapbooks, photos, and artifacts with the group.

Future Wednesday evening events will be held on Oct. 18, Nov. 15, and Dec. 20.
