June Myles Swart, age 87, of San Antonio, TX, passed away August 8, 2012.

June was born November 21, 1924 in Rome, NY to the late Michael J. and Mae Irene Colp Myles. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Milford C. Myles; sister, Joyce Eileen Roberts; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Helen Swart Charles and William B. Charles, III.

On September 15, 1951 she married Clarence J. Swart in Amsterdam, NY.

She was a 1942 graduate of Rome Free Academy in Rome, NY and a 1945 graduate of Amsterdam City Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. She worked as an RN at Amsterdam City Hospital and Amsterdam Memorial Hospital. She was also the RN Supervisor of the Physical Therapy Department at the Montgomery County Infirmary, retiring in 1989.

She was a former member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church, and Inman Senior Center, Amsterdam, NY. She received a 50 year pin from Amsterdam City Hospital Nurses Alumni Association. She is a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes, the Helotes Lions Club #2-A2, and Northwest Seniors Club, Leon Valley, TX.

June was a very stylish lady. She was an avid bridge player and loved bingo. She enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas.

June and Clarence move to San Antonio in September 2003.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence J. Swart; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Kruger and Dr. Robert M. Kruger; granddaughter, Kimberly Swart Kruger all of San Antonio; brother-in-law, Thomas Roberts; nephews, Kevin Roberts, Timothy Roberts, Greg Myles, William B. Charles IV, and Lott Swart Charles; nieces, Cindy Bryan and Rebecca Wright.

Visitation will be Friday, August 17, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Helotes.

Interment at Zion Lutheran Cemetery of Helotes will follow the church service.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes, Texas Lions Camp or Westover Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. The family would like to express its deep appreciation to the staff of Westover Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for its loving and compassionate care.
