Irene Mae Fields, 84, passed away at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, NY. Irene was born was born on December 2, 1927 in Syracuse the daughter of the late Neil and Elizabeth McDonald Sinclair. A graduate of Eastwood High School, she worked as a stenographer and office clerk for several companies, including GE - before marrying in 1948 and starting a family. While in Syracuse she was a long serving member of the Daughters of Scotia. Irene and family left the greater Syracuse area and moved to Broadalbin, NY in 1981.

A determined genealogist, Irene spent over 40 years following the paper trail of her family tree. An avid collector of dolls, cook books, china plates and figurines she and her husband were regulars attending the various auction houses in the Greater Amsterdam area.

She was predeceased by her husband Warren E. Fields in 2011. Irene is survived by her sons: Roy of Collamer, Scott of Gloversville, Greg of Englewood, NJ, Keith of Farmington, NM; daughters: Sheila Fields of Hopewell, NJ, Karen Campolieto of Brewerton, NY; brother: Gordon Sinclair of East Syracuse; sister: Doris Koss of Beausejour, Manitoba, Canada: 7 grandchildren ;and 1 great-grandchild. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday August 14th from 5-7 PM at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James Street, Syracuse. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
