Ferdinand "Fred" Leo Danise, 88, of Fultonville, NY passed away peacefully at the Mountain Valley Hospice Home in Gloversville, NY on July 15th, 2013, with loving family by his side.
Fred was born in Danbury, Connecticut on January 27, 1925. Fred was one of thirteen children born to Ferdinand and Rose Danise. Fred served in World War II and the Korean War. He was the president of the Local Liquor Dealers Association when he owned the Hotel Arthur. From car sales, restaurants, bars, and liquor stores, Fred was a businessman by nature.
He is predeceased by his parents and all of his siblings, but one; Flora Haskel. Fred was also predeceased by a daughter, Lori Danise. Fred was the loving husband of Irene Danise and devoted father of nine children.
Fred is survived by Kathleen Gritton (Preston), Patricia Gritton (Raymond), Vincent Danise, Gary Danise (Karen), Darlene Monk (Stephen), Randy Danise (Ann), Ferdinand Danise (Marisa), Diane Danise.
He was proud to have seen five generations of his family in his lifetime. This included 20 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He liked to take long drives on country roads, play solitaire and cards. He had a love for theatre and anything sweet, including ice cream and cookies. Fred spent his later years enjoying his wife, children, and endless amounts of grandchildren.
In memory of his daughter, Lori, Fred had decided to donate his body to science as an Anatomical Gift to Albany Medical Center.
