FULTONVILLE -- On a cool Friday night, the racing was heated as always at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park.
Veteran drivers Bob Savoie and Bobby Vedder led the field to the green flag of starter Joe Achzet for the start of the modified feature event on NYSSCA award night. By completion of lap 2, Rich Price had moved around Vedder to take over the second position and set his sights on Savoie.
In the meantime many of the hot shoes that started in back of the pack were advancing through the field. Elmo Reckner became a member of the top three on lap 6, and Bobby Varin was now in the top five. As the passing continued, Savoie remained at the front, but as of lap 8, he felt the challenge of Price, Reckner, Varin, and now former track champion Craig Hanson were all part of the top five. Reckner made his move on lap 11 and became the new leader. Reckner looked as if it might be the night he would visit victory lane for the first time in 2013. Reckner survived a restart after a caution period for Hanson's spin into the infield in turn two, but this did allow Varin to move into second. As the field crossed the line for lap 20, Varin would be shown, as the leader followed by Reckner, Savoie, Jeff Rockefeller, and Jim Becker. Varin would go on to win, his third feature at Glen Ridge this year.
In the 602 Sportsman feature, Mike Jackson and Ivan Joslin, would bring the field around for the start. Joslin jumped to the early lead, with Ray Zemken, on his bumper. These two would test each other, and run side by side, until the midway point of the 25 lap event. On a restart, Joslin and Jackson would make contact, causing them to be shuffled back through the field. Two time 2013 winner Korey Wilder was able to take advantage of the situation, and moved into second place, bringing Brian Pessolano with him. Zemken would lead, the remainder, of the feature event, followed by Wilder, B. Pessolano, Joslin, and John Marsh Jr.
The Magsarus RaceSaver Sprints were back at "The Ridge." Josh Pieniazek, would lead green to checker. Pro Stocks also made their return appearance at the track, with "Cousin" Luke Horning winning.
Duke McSpirit took the Street Stock feature, while Shane Playford won the Lightning Cruiser feature.
