Age brackets, as determined by the player's age as of April 30, 2012, are as follows: Bantam, 6 to 8; minor league, 9 to 10; major league, 11 to 12.
A new division for 13-year-olds, called the "50-70 Division" will be added this year.
Registration events will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Perth Town Hall; Saturday, March 9, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Broadalbin Village Office; Monday, March 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Broadalbin Village Office; and Thursday, March 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Perth Town Hall.
Cost of the program for the Bantam Division will be $40 per player. Cost for remaining divisions will be $55 per child, $85 for two children, or $100 for three children.
Parents may download the registration form, medical release and parent conduct form by going to the website, www.byckids.com. Bring completed forms to a sign-up event. Coach and volunteer forms are also available on the website.
Other items required for player registration are a copy of the player's birth certificate and proof of residency (parent's driver's license, utility bill, school tax bill or another document showing the actual physical address). Post office boxes do not qualify.
Checks for registration fees can be made payable to Broadalbin Youth Commission. Checks for the 50-70 Division registration must be separate from other registrations.
Late registrations will not be allowed.
All registered players will play baseball. Opening Day is slated for Saturday, April 27. Games will run through the end of June. Tournament teams will play after the regular season is completed.
